LIBERTY SHOUT

I longed for freedom to sing
Forgetting the amount I own
As the kite won’t fly without its string
I won’t soar without my own

I hear the cries of so-called free ones
As they drag themselves about
They wish as well home to run
But made void is their liberty in freedom’s shout

I’m told to fight for immunity
But why would I if it is liberty I flee from
In my redemption I choose captivity
For that is where I feel true freedom

The knowledge of greater things
Makes it impossible for me to let go
My desire to have wings
Didn’t take over my logic, you know
