Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12

A friendship in question
Loss is what you see
Because of your decision
To Yah you dedicated be

Rejection upon rejection
From those you once trusted
But your witness do not lessen
For you are merely dusted

The particles taken from you
Are those that lessen the shine
Of the Light in and around you
That which says, “You are Mine.”

You are set apart
For the calling of Most High
You are near His heart
He draws you daily nigh

And though you may long
For the friends of yesterday
Know that you belong
Among them who forever stay

Therefore take heart, beloved
For you have a destiny
To be nurtured, to be loved
By the God of ETERNITY

A HANDFUL OF MARBLES

A prized bag of marbles
Each with unmeasured worth
And their unique marvels
Improve my time on earth

But comes some bumpy ground
And some may roll away
They leave me to be bound
In days of yesterday

My hands stretch out to grab
The ones I have in reach
But even as I nab
Those lost proceed to teach

A lesson on the past
Let go and move on, dear
Before those that last
Leave you in your fear

Yearning what could have been
At last I venture on
While I with care convene
Those precious few I’ve won

A handful of prized marbles
Each with unmeasured worth
And with loving garbles
Enrich my time on earth

SYNERGY

Emptiness of great proportions
Lengths of undivided silence
Daily going through the motions
Of living in independence

A limitless vocab’lary
Drifting through my restless mind
But those that come spontaneously
Leaves for much to be desired

Cognate fragments of confusion
All refuse to come together
To form an edifying key
To break from this never ever

The never ever will I know
Or the ever present ‘What if?’
The relentless ‘Do I allow?’
Next to the unfailing ‘As if!’

How do I handle the dire view
Of my brain’s infinite supply
Will it help to come back to You
Will You ever turn a blind eye

You, Yahweh, are the one answer
In a world of perplexity
And with disarray everywhere
You and I form a synergy

CONVINCING REMARKS

Sometimes remarks are hard to trust
They come sincerely and then fade
They’re tangible but turn to dust
No matter the great effort made

I live for reports and statements
But I know that they may wither
They come and go like temp’raments
This mem’ry causing me to dither

I wonder if this odd essay
Will ever give me rest and qui’t
A comma or point perhaps may
Bring to a close my woeful plight

Soon after such a slighty pause
It simply must continue on
‘Till all is said; eachy weighty clause
Is brought to your fixed attention

So I coclude, my dearest friend
That words may bring uncertainty
Never fear; this be not the end
For words, too, bring assurety

I BELIEVE, I DECLARE

I used to fear speaking, stating, asking
I feared rebuttal and grief
I feared rejection of what I’m saying
I feared dismissal of my belief

No longer do I fear this way
Instead I embrace my responsibility
As a writer to share every day
My persuasion to the best of my ability

At times my words seem to fail
Sometimes I lack the understanding
But time after time I tell the tale
Of my knowledge again expanding

I will gain new wisdom to share
And God will show me how
Should I doubt my newest dare
I will return to Him who knows

Never would I have gotten so far
If it were not for His constancy
And should my belief mar
He once again guides diligently

A WRITER’S HEART

A decision to be made
A desire to be heard
Thoughts brighten and fade
Meanings distinct and blurred

A message screaming out
Clarity given to the willing
Without fear or doubt
The declaration thrilling

Wanting them to contradict
Sharing what you know
Trying to convict
Learning daily how

This is a writer’s heart
Sharing what they know best
In their personal art
What they know should be addressed
